info
When you purchase your puppy it has been certified as being healthy. We have provided you with a “Puppy Passport” to log health records. In purchasing this puppy you agree to take this puppy for regular vet visits for shots and other health needs. Please use the Puppy Passport of puppy's medical records and be sure to keep a copy of all check ups. We recommend that you spay or neuter your puppy at the appropriate time as responsible pet owners. For this health guarantee to remain valid, owner must keep puppy up to date on all necessary vaccines and medications necessary - relevant to the local area you live in.
Before purchasing your pup we have had the puppy checked by our Licensed Veterinarian prior to leaving the kennel, and a health certificate has been issued, stating that the puppy has been inspected and found free from visible signs of infection, contagious or communicable disease. We recommend that you do not take your new puppy into public places unless absolutely necessary, until the puppy has had all its vaccinations (as recommended by your veterinarian) to insure immunity against disease.
Your new puppy is guaranteed against life-threatening genetic defects for the period of 1 year from date of birth. If a life-threatening genetic defect is found within that time frame, and is verified by our Veterinarian, a full refund or replacement puppy at our discretion will be given. For this guarantee to be honored, the puppy and all registration papers, and veterinarian records must be returned to us. In case of death, an autopsy or postpartum diagnosis is necessary, and medical records will need to be sent or faxed to our veterinarian. He will review the report and have final say about the cause of death (genetic or non-genetic cause).
After the puppy has been purchased and left our premises all veterinarian charges incurred by the purchaser are the sole responsibility of the purchaser, and will under NO circumstances be paid by us.
A diagnosis of coccidia, giardia, parasites, mites and kennel cough or any other type of bacterial infection does not render your puppy unhealthy. These items can be found on the ground, in water, and public places, and are treatable conditions. Pups also continue to eat their own and other animal feces which leaves them susceptible to parasites. All puppies are checked by our Licensed Veterinarian, and are found to be in good health before leaving here. We recommend that you bring the puppy for a visit to a Veterinarian with 72 hours of purchase.
We sell our puppies as “COMPANION” pups and do not suggest that they are of "Show Quality" nor do we recommend breeding. Our mission is to provide clean, healthy, and happy companions. We also cannot guarantee adult size, color or temperament
We would like to thank you for purchasing your puppy from us. Please send us updated pictures and information as your new family member grows with you!
The purchase of a puppy shows agreement to these terms.
You will receive a copy of this contract as well as a stamped guarantee signed by us, with your puppy.
I have read and understand the above agreement:

7 Day General Health Policy
(Provided with puppy)
Hickory Dickory Dogs Inc. (HDD) has made every effort to ensure that you, the consumer, receive a healthy puppy. The following documents have been provided with your puppy purchase:
HDD Health Record; immunization, deworming schedule, birth date, parent info
Veterinary Health Certificate showing mandatory immunization record
Microchip Registration, Collar ID tag, Microchip company information
Bill of Sale including GST and PST
ACA Breed Registration Papers if appropriate
Our policy provides that if, within 7 calendar days following the sale of a puppy, a veterinarian of the consumers choosing, licensed by the Province of Ontario, certifies such animal to be unfit for purchase due to illness, a congenital malformation which adversely affects the health of the animal, or the presence of symptoms of a serious life threatening contagious or infectious disease, HDD shall afford the consumer the right to choose one of the following options (Request for refund/reimbursement must be accompanied by all of the above original documentation noted above):
The Policy requires that any refund or reimbursement to the consumer shall be made by HDD not later than 15 business days following receipt of the signed Veterinarian Certificate of Ill Health as herein required. Such certification shall be presented to HDD not later than two calendar days following receipt from the Veterinarian to the consumer.
This Policy further provides that a veterinary finding of intestinal parasites commonly found in puppies shall NOT be grounds for declaring the puppy unfit for sale unless the animal is critically ill due to such condition. As your puppy was purchased with every belief that he/she was healthy with NO clinical signs of illness at time of sale, unless otherwise disclosed, we reserve the right to investigate whether or not the puppy is now ill on account of injury sustained, neglect, or illness contracted subsequent to the consumer taking possession thereof. (I.e.: common poison houseplants, exposure to ill dogs, negligence, other household toxins or foods).
The Policy provides that if HDD wishes to contest a demand for a refund, exchange or reimbursement made by a consumer, HDD shall have the right to require the consumer to produce the puppy for examination by a Veterinarian licensed in the Province of Ontario designated by HDD. Upon examination by the designated Veterinarian of HDD, if there is not agreement as to the etiology of illness in the puppy as being the responsibility of HDD, a refund, reimbursement will NOT be issued without further discussion, if at all.
It is the responsibility of the new owner of the puppy to take this newly purchased puppy to a Veterinarian licensed in the Province of Ontario within 72 hours of purchase for a “Well Puppy Visit”. If the consumer has not taken the pup to a Licensed Veterinarian in the Province of Ontario within 72 hours of purchase of this puppy, this Policy is null and void. After the initial 7 days following the sale of a puppy any health guarantee falls under the guidelines of the 1 Year Genetic Health Guarantee offered by HDD.
