info
At Hickory Dickory Dogs Inc. we understand that purchasing a puppy is a BIG committment. That is why you want to make sure that you are getting your new companion from professionals that care! We go to extensive lengths to make sure that our puppies are socialized between the sixth and twelfth weeks of age to become suitable companions. All of the information regarding microchipping, vet health and health records are provided to you when you purchase the pups. PUP PRICES DO NOT INCLUDE GST AND PST.
If you know in advance that you would like one of the pups coming up you can place a $50.00 fully refundable deposit on the pup. If for any reason, when you come to see the pup you do not like it, you will receive your deposit back. If you do not show up for the viewing appointment and we have reserved that pup for you, (ie: told other customers it has been sold) the deposit will NOT be refunded.
People often wonder what mixed breeds will look like when they are older. The genetic diversity in mixed pups makes it difficult to predict exactly the look that will appear as an adult dog. We recommend that you research the breed and take a look at www.dogbreedinfo.com to access a variety of pictures.
Children may hold a pup when they are seated on the ground and supervised by an adult. Puppies squirm and wiggle and may be dropped if not properly held. As well , puppies may accidentaly scratch or chew on children or their clothing. Parents need to be aware of this and assume that risk when they allow their children to handle a pup.
On occassion we MAY allow this when notified in advance. The health and safety of our pups is our primary concern. You will be required to provide us with current and up to date immunization records including kennel cough vaccine. We assume no liability for your dogs health or safety.
At the time of purchase we provide you with the size of the parents which is a guideline for the approximate size of the adult pup. You can again look at www.dogbreedinfo.com for more specific information on cross breeds.
Pups are sold on a first come first serve basis . If you purchase a pup you must pick it up that day. We DO NOT hold pups once they are sold or on a reservation basis. If you have a reserve on a pup that is coming soon we will hold the pup for 48 hours after it arrives for pick up. After this time the pup will be put up for adoption again and you will forfeit your deposit.
Many pups can be considered hypoallergenic. Often times people are allergic to the animal saliva which is independent of the coat. We recommend that you carefully research the breed you are purchasing to know the details of allergies etc. before you purchase your puppy.
The microchip is a small chip that is implanted under the skin of your puppy. It is there so that your pup can be identified if it is lost. For more information on the microchip your pup has contact www.microchipsolutions.com
When you purchase a puppy from Mystic Pups you have 48 business hours to return your puppy for a full refund if you have taken her/him to a Liscenced Veternarian who finds a life threatening health issue that cannot be treated with medication satifactorily. Common parasites such as coccidia are not considered to be life threatening if a pup is properly medicated. Assuming the pup has been properly cared for and has not suffered any trauma during this time when accompanied by a letter from the vet outlining the life threatening condition, we will provide a full refund or exchange. After this time has passed if you do not want the puppy for a reason other than a genetic health issue we will not take the puppy back. We do however care about what happens to your pup and will assist you in finding a new home for your puppy assuming it remains in good health and has not suffered any trauma. If your dog is injured or ill in any way we suggest you take it to your veternarian for advice on where to go from there.
What if I , or a family member am allergic to my new pup?
When you purchase a puppy you need to be very sure that you can care for that puppy including in the presence of severe allergies. We encourage you in advance if you have any concerns about allergies to speak with your Physician and possibly your Vet about your allergies and options. We also encourage you to make an appointment for such and you may bring your family member to come and play with the puppy , then wait to see how you/they react . If you have any question about allergies and suitability the responsibility is yours as the new puppy owner to make sure that this puppy is not one that will cause you harm in the form of an allergic reaction. If the puppy is purchased and does go home with you we will not refund your purchase for allergies. We will however help you find a home for the puppy immediately in order to help you to place that puppy in a loving permanent home.
There are many good books and sites on house training your pup. We also encourage you to read any available information or to ask your Veternarian.
We recommend that you bring your pup to the Veternarian within a few days of purchace for a well puppy visit. At this time you will provide the Vet with the pup Health Record and they will determine when the next set of shots etc. is due. Generally the next round of shots are due within 5-6 weeks. Puppies need to be dewormed as often as every two weeks. This can also be discussed with your Vet.
